Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I was with Tim K when we happened upon the Kitchen. We were thinking about going somewhere on Coleman for brunch when we saw this new sign for a place that wasn't even on Yelp yet and thought we'd be pioneers. Normally I would say that this place is new and needs to work out some kinks, but they used to be Bricco Bracco Cuccina and just changed the name and menu a bit. They should already have this down. It was pretty empty and the lack of music or any background noise made for an awkward atmosphere. Our waitress was really nice and very helpful in helping us explore the new menu. I decided on a breakfast sandwich and a side of hash-browns. I asked for the English muffin to really be toasted (even a little burnt) because it's kind of a pet peeve of mine when it's not. She fully understood, but still brought out my sandwich without a hint of brown anywhere to be seen. I didn't mention it and ate what turned out to be a decent breakfast sandwich that could have been awesome if it had that crispy crunch. The hash-browns on the other hand were atrocious. Tim immediately sent his back because they were refrigerator cold. She asked about mine and I tried one and they were warm so I figured what's the use. A few minutes later, Tim's dish comes out with these crispy blackened edge hash-browns that were fantastic. She noticed that I hadn't touched mine. I realized quickly after she took his plate back that mine were luke warm and likely sitting in a bin in the back just waiting to be microwaved and put on a plate. They were soggy and cold in the middle. She offered to have done to mine what was done to Tim's so I agreed with her to send them back. This time, the plate was gone for a total of 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then back out of the kitchen just the same as they were before. Again, she came by the table to check on us and noticed I still hadn't touched them. I showed her they were the same and being the nice person she was, offered to take them back again. Unfortunately at this point, it was too little too late and I told her just to toss 'em. The rain came down hard so we stuck around for an extra round of $2 bloody mary's, but that was the only saving grace.

It has been a while that I've given 3 stars, especially in Charleston. The Kitchen is still owned and operated by the same owners as Bricco Bracco-Cucina but due to a lot of misunderstandings of the concept and mishaps with the other location, the owners decided to change the name and the menu so the chef could get in more creativity. Sounds a very exciting start to me. The waitress was a very joly woman who knew what she was talking about. She provided us with a spoton service. We arrived at brunch and immediatly the $2 dollar mimosas and bloody mary caught our eye. My company didn't allow me to get a mimosa so it's a good time for me to start drinking bloody mary. I must say... they went down pretty well. The inside is very generic and something that caught my attention immediatly was that there was no background music playing. I ordered the Crabcakes Benne and my friend the breakfast sandwich, both with a side of hash browns. When the food arrived it looked pretty good. When I started picking through my hash, tho, I tasted it and it was cold. I tasted like it hasn't seen any flame. I asked the waitress to return and heat them again. When they came back, they had some more color and tasted perfect since the chef had thrown them back into the skillet. The crabcakes were ok... Nothing special and i though the egg was just a bit overcooked. I don't think they will see me here again but I would suggest others to try it if you pass by. Especially for their drink specials :-)

Loving the new menu! Something that is different and not seen a lot around Charleston, A lil cajun and a lil southern mix. I have tried a few things on the new menu and have not been disappointed by any! Great fried chicken, home made fried pickles and of course their wonderful brunch menu including $2 mimosas and bloody mary's. It is a very laid back, casual atmosphere and the staff is very welcoming and friendly.
